Hiking in Georgia
From a two-hour walk to a waterfall to a week of passes between Svan towers, the Caucasus has a trail for every level. Each trail here has its distance, climb, water and phone signal, the months it is open and an honest 1 to 5 grade. Walk on your own, or let us arrange a mountain guide, transfers, guesthouses and horses.

How we grade trails, 1 to 5
The same scale on every trail and trek. If you are between two levels, pick the lower one or ask us for a rest day.
Up to 3 hours of walking, under 300 m of ascent, good paths and no exposure.
3 to 5 hours, 300 to 700 m of ascent, with some steep or rocky parts.
5 to 7 hours a day, 700 to 1,100 m of ascent, rough or unmarked ground, passes up to about 3,000 m.
Days of 7 hours or more, or multi-day with camping: 1,100 m+ of ascent, passes above 3,000 m, river crossings, remote ground.
Glacier travel with ropes and crampons, altitude above 4,000 m (for example Kazbek).
