The Maspindzeli story
Why we are called the host
Georgians have a saying, სტუმარი ღვთისაა: a guest is a gift from God. For centuries, travellers crossing the Caucasus were welcomed into homes, fed, given wine and a place to sleep, without being asked who they were.
At the centre of every Georgian table is the maspindzeli, the host, and the tamada, who leads the toasts: to peace, to family, to those who are not with us, to the guest.
Our logo is that host: a man in a chokha raising a glass of wine to welcome you. We built our company around that role. We meet you, plan for you, introduce you to our winemakers and cooks, and look after the details so you can simply enjoy Georgia.
