Kutaisoba (Kutaisi City Day)
Kutaisi's spring city festival, with concerts, folk dance and market stalls in the centre.
KutaisiPhoto: Kober, CC BY-SA 3.0Georgia's second-oldest city holds its own celebration at the start of May. Streets around the Colchis Fountain and the riverside fill with craft stalls, food tents, school choirs and evening concerts. The festival overlaps with Gviriloba, an old spring custom named after the snowdrop.
In 2027 the usual date falls on Easter Sunday, so the city may move the programme. Pair the day with Bagrati and Gelati on the hills above town and the caves of Sataplia or Prometheus nearby.
- Check the Kutaisi City Hall programme a week ahead; in 2027 the date may shift because of Easter.
- Kutaisi airport is 14 km away, which makes this an easy add-on for low-cost flyers.
